High Impact DMX-SL 100
Introduced in March 2007, DMX-SL 100 is targeted for high durability applications. Based on unique chemistry platform which produces an unprecedented stiffness/ toughness combination, DMX-SL demonstrates the stiffness of standard ABS-type resins but with more than twice the impact strength.

The Informal Test:

During product development DSM had a crazy idea. DMX-SL 100 has extremely high impact resistance but what would happen if it was put through an extreme test? What if a .22 caliber bullet was shot at it?

On September 24th 2006 they did just that. As for the results, you can see for yourself. It didn’t shatter, it didn’t break apart – in fact the bullet didn’t even pass all the way through!

This test has been imitated (using air rifle pellet guns), but the results have never been matched by other "high impact materials."
