INJECTION MOLDING CHARACTERISTICS:

OVERVIEW
Rapid tooling provides a fast, cost-effective solution when production materials are required.
To ensure the fastest turnaround, aluminum tools are produced directly from CAD data. Conventional injection molding processes are used to produce parts with production part properties.

PROCESS
Step 1 : The Data
The process begins by using the part data to construct the machining tool paths.
Step 2 : The Inserts
The part geometry and mold components are machined to create the core and cavity inserts. The inserts are assembled into the mold frame (when required) and mounted to the injection molding press.
Step 3 : The Injection Molding
Parts are injection molded using production material using production processing parameters. Molded parts are trimmed where needed.
APPLICATIONS
- Prototyping, pre-production, limited production needed (5 - 50,000)
- Functional testing
- Field testing
