General
Q. How should I select which Rapid Prototyping (RP) process to use?
A. The best way is to define the intended use of the prototype. As a general rule, SLA parts are more accurate and have the potential for a better surface finish. SLS parts have higher impact strength.
Q. If I have parts that I need faster than a "typical" delivery, can you do it?
A. Yes, Just call DPT and ask to speak with a project engineer. We will make every effort to get you your parts when you need them.
Q. How is the cost of a part determined?
A. The cost of a part is determined by its volume and X, Y, and Z dimensions. This information is used to estimate the time required to build the part. The time is translated to a cost to build the part. Finishing time, depending upon the finish level required, is added to determine the final price.
Q. Can inserts be used with urethane castings?
A. Yes, DPT will install threaded inserts in SLA, SLS, and urethane castings. Many sizes are available in stock for a nominal charge.
