An Overview
The concepts for a part include all of the desired characteristics and particulars of the part that are determined in the initial proposal of the part. These concepts can include the shape, dimensions, weight, and basic ergonomics of the part. The concepts form the basis upon which the design is developed.
Concept verification occurs when the model resulting from Rapid Prototyping is examined with respect to these concepts. This verification can involve physically examining the part to verify that it satisfies all physical characteristics specified in the original concepts including shape and dimensions.
